When Should A Buyer or Seller Bring An Attorney Into A Transaction?

In Honolulu, it is not typical to have an attorney involved in the structuring of a normal contract for the purchase of a property. This is because members of the Honolulu Board of Realtors and Hawaii Association of Realtors use standardized forms.

However, it's good to know your options on when to consult with an attorney in Honolulu Real Estate transactions.

If you would feel more comfortable having the contracts reviewed by a licensed attorney before a sale or purchase or if a transaction becomes unusual or overly complex, then the guidance of an attorney will be helpful.

Also, If you are under contract and the other party engages an attorney, then it would be wise for you to do so as well.

While there are many other scenarios when it is best to consult an attorney, the basic idea is that anytime you think you need help, it is prudent to bring in professional help.
